Background and Rationale for this skills based educational Programme.

The dramatic improvements in the speed and quality of plastics technology are been made both nationally and internationally therefore the need for skills based training for staff working in these environments' is critical. Moldflow analysis technicians need the right skills and competencies at the right place at the right time to provide optimal Moldflow results.

Programme Design
This skills based programme draws on the experience of the programme co-ordinator who holds Gold level accreditation, the highest level of accreditation awarded by Autodesk Moldflow. The programme co-ordinator has also over 12 years experience as a qualified toolmaker, injection moulding technician and Moldflow analyst for the industry.

Aim of the programme
The programme will offer participants the opportunity to acquire knowledge , skill and competence of the basic principles of Moldflow technology through the use of Autodesk Moldflow software.

Programme duration
The programme is designed to run over 2 1/2 days. However, it can be adapted to be delivered over 1 day depending on service need. The programme is designed to be delivered on respective company site with access to Autodesk Moldflow analysis software.

1 Critical decision making with regard to importing of 3- D- model of a plastic component
2 Critical Decision making with regard to meshing and preparation of the model for analysis
3 The identification of basic moulding processing issues
4 An understanding of the basic principles of Moldflow technology
5 Critical decision making with regard to Polymer material selection and comparisons
6 Running analysis and reviewing results
7 Report Generation and reporting.
