Collection and use of personal information
Skillnets does not collect any personal data about you, apart from information which you volunteer as a participant on training organised by one of our training networks.

Information you provide is used by us only to enable us to meet the reporting requirements of our mandate with the Department of Education & Skills.

Any personal information which you volunteer to Skillnets  will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Acts, 1988 and 2003.
This personal information is made available to our agents in relation to the administration of its databases and to determine the validity of the achievements of the training programmes.

Right of Access rectification or erasure:
Under the terms of the Data Protection Acts you have the right to be given a copy of your personal data and to have your personal data corrected if it is inaccurate.

Requests for information personal to you should be in writing and this will be replied to within 40 calendar days. We will accept an emailed or written request and this should be accompanied with identification. There is no fee required.

This statement sets out our policy regarding the privacy of the users of this website. By visiting this website you are agreeing to the terms of this privacy statement. This website allows users to subscribe to an email alert system whereby you can stay up-to-date with  news, publications and be kept informed when new funding is available. In addition, when new funding for training networks is available, a registration form will be included on this website, which must be completed in advance of making an application for funding. If you subscribe to alerts and/or complete a registration form, your email address and personal details are received by the Communications Department of  who will add them to or remove them from the subscriber database.  We will only use your email address for sending you communications for which you have specifically subscribed or requested. You can unsubscribe from these alerts at any time.

For backup purposes, copies of email alert subscriber and registration form lists are stored on secure servers to which:

  • a limited number of  staff within the Communications Dept have physical access
  •  staff have access via the internal network.

 Skillnets is not responsible for the privacy practices of any external websites which may be accessed through your use of our website and so we would advise that you review the privacy statements of those websites as they may be subject to different privacy requirements.

We may update this statement from time to time to reflect any changes in technology or legislation which may affect the way in which we process your personal information.
